RECOVERY BOOTS (INTERMITTENT PNEUMATIC COMPRESSON)

Intermittent pneumatic compression was initially developed as a therapeutic technique used in medical devices that include an air pump and inflatable auxiliary sleeves, gloves or boots in a system designed to improve venous circulation in the limbs of patients who suffer edema or the risk of deep vein thrombosis (DVT) or pulmonary embolism (PE). In recent times, this technology has been adapted for use by elite athletes as a recovery tool.

After a intense workout or competition, there is some degree of exercise reduced muscle damage at a cellular level. This is accompanied by an influx of fluid into the cells that manifests as swelling. Pneumatic compression is beneficial as it physically forces this added fluid back out of the cells. In doing so , it takes many of the by-products of the muscle damage with it.

MASSAGE GUNS (PERCUSSIVE THERAPY)

Our massage guns work on the basis of ‘percussive therapy’

Percussive therapy accelerates the growth and repair of tissues by providing concentrated, rapid, short-duration pulses deep into the tissues of the body. This heavily increases blood flow to the area causing pain relief and an increasing range of motion and function.

A small study published in the Journal of Clinical and Diagnostic Research found percussive therapy to be as effective as massage in preventing DOMS (delayed onset muscle soreness).

Unlike with many other forms of bodywork, it's not only possible to perform percussive massage on yourself but it's recommended.
